Purple House supports patients with personalised care to ensure they can travel home safely and keep receiving their dialysis. In June 2025 some of the Purple House Bush Balm team head off to Utju (Areyonga) a small community 240km west of Alice Springs with Selina Bob and her family.
Although dialysis isn’t available in Utju, following a successful kidney transplant in 2024 Selina Bob and a few of her family members who are also on Dialysis in Alice Springs were determined to return home to be with their family, reconnect with Country and go pick some Irmangka Irmangka bush medicine and cook some Kangaroo tail with support from the Purple House Team. After collecting some Irmangka Irmangka Selina and her family showed the Bush Balm Team how they make their bush medicine their way. The next day Selina took the Bush Balm Team to the Utju School to show them how they make some bush medicine and why it is good for you use Bush Balm.
