Manayingkarírra (Maningrida)
Manayingkarírra (Maningrida)
Manayingkarírra, also known as Maningrida and Manawukan, is a remote Aboriginal community in northern Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, located near the mouth of the Liverpool River, approximately 500km north-east of Darwin.
With a population of around 2,500 people, Manayingkarírra is one of the largest communities in the Northern Territory and an important regional service centre for more than 30 surrounding outstations and homelands.
The community has a range of essential services and facilities, including a school, health clinic, cafe, swimming pool, two supermarkets, arts centre and tourism ventures.
Dialysis Coming Soon
Purple House is working with the community to bring dialysis services to Manayingkarírra, in partnership with Mala’la Health Service Aboriginal Corporation.
Thanks to funding from the Commonwealth Government, a new dialysis service is planned to open in Manayingkarírra in late 2027.
