Borroloola

Borroloola is a community located 670kms south east of Katherine on the sealed Carpentaria Highway and is home to the Yanyuwa, Marra, Garrwa, Gudanji and Binbingka traditional owners.With a population of 755, it is one of the largest communities in the Roper Gulf region and a popular fishing spot being on the banks of the McArthur River some 50km inland from the Gulf of Carpentaria. The community has a Health Centre, Police Station, School, Council Office, and several stores.
