Where we work

Purple House provides culturally safe dialysis and support across remote Australia. We currently provide dialysis in 19 remote communities and run two mobile dialysis units called the Purple Truck! We also provide Aged Care, NDIS, Primary Health and social support services for people who have to live in town from the Purple House in Alice Springs and Panuku in Darwin. Purple House has support staff in Perth, Kalgoorlie and Adelaide to help people get home to their communities.

Alice Springs

The Purple House is our main headquarters. It’s a home away from home for dialysis patients receiving dialysis in Alice Springs.

Darwin

Based at the Rapid Creek Business Village, Panuku is the place where remote community patients living in Darwin for dialysis can get social support, care coordination and advocacy.

Purple Truck

The Purple Truck is a self-contained dialysis unit on wheels. It gives patients with end-stage renal failure the chance to return home for family, cultural or sorry business.

Kintore

Established in 2004, Kintore is the first remote clinic opened by Purple House and has enabled hundreds of Pintupi people to return home.

Ntaria (Hermannsburg)

Purple House have provided dialysis in the Western Arrente community of Ntaria (Hermannsburg) since 2010.

Yuendumu

Tanami Regional Dialysis opened in 2010 and enabling Walpiri people from Yuendumu, Yuelamu, Willowra and Nyirripi to receive dialysis on country.

Milyirrtjarra (Warburton)

The Warburton Dialysis Room enables patients who have had to dislocate to Alice Springs, Perth and Kalgoorlie to return to community while continuing dialysis treatment.

Lajamanu

The Lajamanu Dialysis Unit opened in 2013 and is supported by our team at Panuku in Darwin.

Kiwirrkurra

The Kiwirrkurra Dialysis unit is part of the new Kiwirrkurra Clinic completed in 2013.

Ltyentye Apurte (Santa Teresa)

The Santa Teresa Dialysis room is part of the Santa Teresa Health Centre. It was set up for patients who had worked hard to become self carers and learnt how to do their own dialysis.

Yirrkala

Located in East Arnhem Land, Yirrkala is was our first Top End dialysis service in partnership with Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation.

Kaltukatjara (Docker River)

Docker River Dialysis unit opened in 2017, bringing dialysis to the community for the first time.

Mt Liebig

Purple House provides dialysis services to patients in Mt Liebig community. It is also the site of Purple House’s first aged-care facility that opened in 2017.

Papunya

Purple House has operated four dialysis chairs in Papunya since 2017.

Wanarn

Located near the Northern Territory – Western Australia border, Purple House offers dialysis at the primary health care clinic in Wanarn.

Angurugu (Groote Eylandt)

Purple House provides some nurse-assisted dialysis from a two-chair dialysis units in Angurugu on Groote Eylandt.

Perth

The Purple House team in Perth supports our Western Australian patients, living and visiting Perth for dialysis treatment.

Kalkarindji

Residents have been able to come home for dialysis in Kalkarindji since Christmas 2018, when the Purple House dialysis unit opened in partnership with Katherine West Health Service.

Ampilatwatja

Dialysis has been available in Ampilatwatja since 2019, provided by Purple House in partnership with the Ampilatwatja Health Centre Aboriginal Corporation.

Pukatja (Ernabella)

Our first South Australian clinic, the Kinyin McKenzie Dialysis Centre, is a four chair facility in Pukatja that opened in August 2019.

Utopia

On November 6th 2019, we opened a four chair dialysis unit in Utopia, approximately 250km north east of Alice Springs

Newman

On April 28th 2022, we opened our Dialysis Centre in the Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service (PAMS) Newman Clinic. This 4 chair unit is the first community-controlled dialysis unit in the Pilbara.
