Jigalong is a community in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, located 1250km northeast of Perth and 60km east of Newman. The community sits on the western edge of the Little Sandy Desert and the Rabbit Proof Fence. Traditionally owned by the Martu people, it has a population of almost 300. As the closest Indigenous community to Newman, many Newman patients are actually from from Jigalong. Opening this clinic in Jigalong will free up chairs in Newman for other patients and allow Jigalong patients to return home permanently.
Purple House is working to bring dialysis to Jigalong thanks to funding from the Commonwealth Government. You can keep up to date with this project on our New Builds page.
