Ntaria (Hermannsburg) is a Western Arrente community located 130kms west of Alice Springs, on the sealed Larapinta Drive. With a population of about 600 residents, the community is famously home of the late artist Albert Namatjira and has a National Trust-listed historic precinct. Situated between the popular Finke Gorge and West MacDonnell National Parks, there are endless valleys, waterholes and hiking trails to explore. Ntaria has two Stores, a School, Police Station, Primary Healthcare Clinic, Church, Kata-Anga Tea Rooms, Historical Precinct and is home to the Hermannsburg Potters.

Purple House has provided dialysis in Ntaria since 2010, following the request for help from the community and through support provided by the NT and Commonwealth Governments to place a small 2 chair facility in the community.

Before receiving funding from the Commonwealth Government to build a house in the community, our nurses had to drive the 220km round trip from Alice Springs to Ntaria daily to do dialysis. The Central Australian Youth Link Up Service (CAYLUS) have been a huge support by sharing a block of land.
