Help us Better Support Dialysis Patients in Perth
Purple House is seeking philanthropic and funding partners to help acquire a permanent, accessible headquarters in Perth. This investment will strengthen support for Aboriginal people receiving dialysis away from Country, support our expanding Western Australian workforce, improve coordination and service delivery across our growing network of remote dialysis clinics and provide a base for workforce development, training and research. The estimated project cost is $3-4 million.
Our Activity and Plans in Western Australia
Purple House currently has four dialysis units in Western Australia, in Newman, Kiwirrkurra, Warburton and Wanarn. As part of our broader expansion, we are building five new dialysis units across Western Australia. In late 2026 we are aiming to open in Wirrimanu (Balgo).
In 2027 we are aiming to open in Wiluna, in partnership with Ngangganawili Aboriginal Health Service; Tom Price, in partnership with Pilbara Aboriginal Health Alliance; Jigalong, in partnership with Puntukurnu Aboriginal Service; and Warburton, in partnership with Ngaanyatjarra Health Service, replacing the existing unit.
Growing Demand in Perth
Purple House began working in Perth in 2016. Following a philanthropic donation of $100,000, we rented an office in Perth in 2024 to support the growing number of patients from remote communities accessing dialysis services in the state, from areas where we offer or will offer dialysis. This support is important for people who are away from Country for treatment and may require assistance navigating housing, healthcare and social support systems.
Purple House Perth currently supports 65 clients, many of whom live in Perth on a temporary or permanent basis for dialysis treatment. Our clients come from several remote communities including Balgo, Bidyadanga, Hedland, Jigalong / Wiluna, Newman, Punmu, Tom Price, Wanarn, Warburton and Warakurna.
Demand for Perth-based support has increased sharply: we delivered 632 case-management (health, medical, social or accommodation) and support services in 2026.
We are rapidly outgrowing our leased premises and seeking to secure a permanent, fit-for-purpose facility that can support both clients and staff while enabling the continued growth of services across Western Australia. The current office is unable to meet growing operational and client needs and presents accessibility challenges for people with mobility requirements. Leasing suitable premises that meets accessibility and operational requirements has become increasingly difficult and costly. A permanent headquarters will provide long-term operational stability.
Financial support is sought to purchase and establish an accessible, well-located permanent facility close to public transport and major health services. The proposed headquarters would include: a welcoming gathering space for clients and families, office and training facilities for staff, a biomedical laboratory to support remote dialysis units, and space for research, education, and workforce development activities. The estimated cost of acquisition and fit-out is between $3 million and $4 million, based on current market conditions.
A permanent headquarters would strengthen support for Aboriginal people receiving treatment away from home, provide a central hub for the orientation and training of WA-based staff, improve coordination across our growing clinic network, and create opportunities for research and innovation that benefits remote communities.
Waiting for Jigalong Dialysis
Kennedy had to travel to Perth for dialysis away from his Country and community. He said moving to Perth made him sad and lonely, but when Jigalong dialysis opens he says “it will be good, it’ll be life changing. I can sit and do what I’ve been doing, go around and see rockholes, springs, hunting too“

Sharon is originally from Wiluna but has been in Perth for a number of years. When asked how she feels about returning home for dialysis when our new clinic opens she said ““For me, I’ll be happy with my sister(s), and her daughters and her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. I’ll be really happy to be home with them and sitting out in the open, looking at the flat, open place.”
“Hunting and sitting down with the grandchildren, watching the boys hunting kangaroo, cooking, making damper, that’s what I miss doing.”
