Health Promotion
Supporting Healthier Communities
At Purple House, our dedicated staff, patients, and Directors are committed to keeping families healthy and reducing the impact of kidney disease in our communities. An important part of this is health promotion and education.
Empowering Dialysis Patients
on Country Education
By helping dialysis patients return home to their communities, we aim to demystify kidney disease. This encourages people to engage with healthcare services earlier, potentially slowing the progression to dialysis.
For those already on dialysis, our experienced nurses provide guidance to help patients understand their treatment, medications, and ways to stay healthy and active. In remote communities, our dialysis nurses serve as valuable resources, offering support and advice to the entire community about renal health.
Promoting Informed Healthcare Decisions
Our Primary Healthcare Team works to empower patients with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their health. They prioritise patient autonomy and host health promotion and education days, where clients can ask questions in a safe, culturally appropriate environment, supported by medical professionals.
Together, we’re building healthier, more informed communities while addressing the challenges of kidney disease.
