Sharing Knowledge
Knowledge is not held at Purple House, it is shared
Every year volunteers, students and secondees have made valuable contributions to Purple House projects. Their involvement helps strengthen our services, but more importantly, they return home with something deeper: a lived understanding of what it means to deliver care grounded in culture, connection, and community control. Stories and experiences are shared with family and friends in workplaces and networks across Australia – helping to build greater understanding of how to work the right way with Indigenous people and communities.
Research Projects
Purple House is committed to research that makes a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal people living with kidney disease. We partner on research that is important to our patients, their families and communities, and that is grounded in the principles of cultural safety, respect and reciprocity.
Our Research Committee works alongside the Purple House Board of Directors to provide governance, oversight and informed decision-making, ensuring that research involving Purple House is conducted ethically and in alignment with our values and mission.
All research projects are reviewed by the Research Committee, with recommendations provided to the Board. Approval timeframes are informed by the nature of the research, the level of risk involved, and the anticipated operational and service impacts.
