In Alice Springs, we have completely outgrown the original Purple House.
We have run out of space for our staff, patients and growing services.
What started as an office to support 1 dialysis chair, now supports 58 dialysis chairs across the NT, WA and SA with another 52 coming over the next 2 years!
Every day is a game of who gets a desk? How many people can we fit in a three desk office? How much work can you get done sitting in the garden? Where can I take this call?

Introducing our New Office!
We are proud to share that we have bought a new building on Leichhardt Terrace in the Alice Springs town centre for us to expand into!! This is a huge milestone for us, giving us the room to grow and better support our teams!
It feels extra special as the building has a long history of housing Aboriginal Community Controlled organisations including our friends at Congress, CAAMA and Imparja.
Whilst this is in imperative step for us to prepare for all the growth to come, it also comes with a significant mortgage and needs alot of work to be fit for us to use.
With support from the Latter Day Saints, we’ve installed solar and batteries to ensure we don’t have any electricity bills, and are in the process of building a custom biomedical engineering lab, giving our biomed team a dedicated space to manage the complex water systems and maintain our growing number of dialysis machines.
We’ve been piecing the rest together, through working bees, finding second-hand furniture and generous donations, including some furniture kindly donated from Temple & Webster… but there is still a long way to go!

Don’t worry, we won’t be closing the original Purple House! It will remain our patient hub, with more space for more people to spend time.
If you’d like to help us get the new building fully set up, through a donation, furniture, or your time, we would be incredibly grateful.

…
I’ve been working at Purple House for 4 years now and during that time have never had my own desk. My work space has alternated between a green armchair in the CEO office, a patient chair in the corridor, a garden bench by the fire or somewhere on the floor.
I am so excited to have my own desk in the new office!
